Backdrop
What makes this movie Worth Watching
Set in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea, the movie reflects the tense relationship between the two countries even decades after the end of the Korean War. It provides an insight into the lives of soldiers on both sides and the challenges they face.
- Outstanding ensemble cast led by renowned actors such as Lee Byung-hun and Song Kang-ho. A gripping, suspenseful plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Exploration of complex political themes related to the Korean War and its aftermath. Visually stunning cinematography.
Fun Facts
- The movie was based on a novel 'The Third Mission' by writer Kim Ji-young, which was itself inspired by a real-life incident in 1976 involving North and South Korean soldiers. The movie was shot entirely in South Korea to avoid filming in the DMZ, with the DMZ serving as a green screen background.

Reviews
A gripping tale about an unlikely ally in a personal, inner war.
A conflict and history that is much too complex for a feature film, but this makes a good attempt.
